Our Ministries

At Providence relationships are vital to the overall ministries of the Providence family.  We believe in three foundational relationships, our relationship with God, our relationship with one another, and our relationships with those who may have a need.

 

Our vehicles for building these relationships are our "Grow Groups" (relationship with God), our "Play Groups" (relationships with one another... and yes, we PLAY), and our "Go Groups" (relationships with those who might have needs we can meet). Below you will find a list of many of the many "Go Group" ministries and service opportunities we have at Providence.

Upcoming Go Group Service Opportunities:
  • Ongoing: InsideOut children are collecting snacks to be donated to local elementary schools
  • Operation in as Much: one day service blitz around our community.  Saturday, May 19th, 8:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m.

  • June 3, 4, 5 & 6: Serve dinner at the Salvation Army shelter in Concord.  Meals are provided for 25-30 residents.  3-5 volnuteers are needed to prepare the meal beforehand and serve that evening.  Time is 7:00 to ~9:30 p.m.
  • Vacation Bible School:  June 24-28.  Lots of volunteers are needed to make this exciting week a success for hundreds of children ready to learn more about God!  Of course please plan on registering your children preschool-5th grade to attend this week as well.  6:00-8:30 each evening!  

  • "Stuff the Bus": Providence Baptist Church's goal is to collect as many school supplies as possible for our 4 local elementary schools.  We begin with the 4th of July parade in Harrisburg and continue collecting through mid-August.  Please drop donations by the church office M-Th 9:00 - 4:00.  If you are interested in riding the bus in the parade please let Staci Powell know!

  •  October 19-20, 2012: Women of Faith conference in Charlotte.  Providence has group seating reserved for women to attend an incredible weekend of worship and teaching.  Friday, Oct 19th 7-10 p.m. & Saturday, Oct 20th 9 am - 5 pm.
